What families in Germany come to us for

Bustan began in Germany, among Kerala families who could not find what they had grown up with themselves. The particular difficulty here is that a child’s school day is in German, the family speaks Malayalam, and there is no Islamic teaching in the curriculum at all — so a child ends up at home in no one language. We teach in English, keep Malayalam going as a subject, and talk to you in whichever you prefer.

In all aspects including culture, language etc is entirely different from KSA. 'Alhamdulillah' — we came to know about this huge blessing with Bustan e-Learning. I really appreciate the teachers in this platform who are working really hard. Ajmy Anzee, Neubeckum

Questions parents in Germany ask

Will the class time actually work for us?

Classes for families in Germany usually run 4pm to 8pm Central European Time. We fix the slot with you on the trial call around school, work and your own evening — not around ours — and we move it when a school examination week arrives rather than letting the term lapse.

Which language will my child be taught in?

English. Tajwid, meaning and adab are explained in the same language as mathematics and science, so that a lesson is understood rather than simply followed. Where a child is more comfortable in Malayalam, Arabic, Hindi or Urdu we teach them in that instead, and we correspond with you in whichever you prefer.

What does it cost, and what do we pay to start?

Nothing to register and nothing for the trial class. We agree the fee with you after the trial, once we know the subjects, the batch size and how often your child will attend, because those are what it depends on.

How big is a class?

Two to four children, or one to one where that is the right arrangement. Small enough that every child reads aloud and answers out loud every time.

Is Bustan an online madrasa for families in Germany?

If you mean live Qur'an, Tajwid, Hifz and Islamic studies with qualified teachers, that is exactly what we do and some of our parents describe us that way. But the same children also take maths, science, English and their school syllabus with us on the same timetable, so “live online school” is nearer the truth.
