Where we teach
Online classes for children in India
Qur’an and Arabic, maths and science, Malayalam, abacus and character — taught live in batches of two to four, in English, by a teacher who sees your child every week. Built around a family’s week in India.
What families in India come to us for
India is the one country where our teaching hours and a family's evening are already the same, so nothing has to be arranged around a time difference. Many of the families we teach here have moved within India rather than out of it — to Bangalore, Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad or Pune — and meet a version of the same problem as a family in Dubai: the school day is in English, the language at home is another, and the Qur’an teaching within reach is in neither.

In their own words
A parent in India
Bustan e-Learning has been a very engaging, interactive and learning process. Some of the plus points of the class is the varied topical learning, from language till fiqh. Even though it is online the class is very interactive and interesting for the kids to learn. Sejna Yasser, Chennai

Questions parents in India ask
Will the class time actually work for us?
Classes for families in India usually run 4pm to 8.30pm India Standard Time. We fix the slot with you on the trial call around school, work and your own evening — not around ours — and we move it when a school examination week arrives rather than letting the term lapse.
Which language will my child be taught in?
English. Tajwid, meaning and adab are explained in the same language as mathematics and science, so that a lesson is understood rather than simply followed. Where a child is more comfortable in Malayalam, Arabic, Hindi or Urdu we teach them in that instead, and we correspond with you in whichever you prefer.
What does it cost, and what do we pay to start?
Nothing to register and nothing for the trial class. We agree the fee with you after the trial, once we know the subjects, the batch size and how often your child will attend, because those are what it depends on.
How big is a class?
Two to four children, or one to one where that is the right arrangement. Small enough that every child reads aloud and answers out loud every time.
Is Bustan an online madrasa for families in India?
If you mean live Qur'an, Tajwid, Hifz and Islamic studies with qualified teachers, that is exactly what we do and some of our parents describe us that way. But the same children also take maths, science, English and their school syllabus with us on the same timetable, so “live online school” is nearer the truth.
