What families in Kuwait come to us for

Batches here are small enough that every child reads aloud in every class, which is the whole reason to learn recitation with a teacher rather than from a recording. Kuwait families typically take Qur’an and Arabic with us and add maths or science when a school term gets difficult. Class times are arranged around the Kuwaiti school week, including Friday.

Questions parents in Kuwait ask

Will the class time actually work for us?

Classes for families in Kuwait usually run 4pm to 9pm Arabia Standard Time. We fix the slot with you on the trial call around school, work and your own evening — not around ours — and we move it when a school examination week arrives rather than letting the term lapse.

Which language will my child be taught in?

English. Tajwid, meaning and adab are explained in the same language as mathematics and science, so that a lesson is understood rather than simply followed. Where a child is more comfortable in Malayalam, Arabic, Hindi or Urdu we teach them in that instead, and we correspond with you in whichever you prefer.

What does it cost, and what do we pay to start?

Nothing to register and nothing for the trial class. We agree the fee with you after the trial, once we know the subjects, the batch size and how often your child will attend, because those are what it depends on.

How big is a class?

Two to four children, or one to one where that is the right arrangement. Small enough that every child reads aloud and answers out loud every time.

Is Bustan an online madrasa for families in Kuwait?

If you mean live Qur'an, Tajwid, Hifz and Islamic studies with qualified teachers, that is exactly what we do and some of our parents describe us that way. But the same children also take maths, science, English and their school syllabus with us on the same timetable, so “live online school” is nearer the truth.
