Where we teach
Online classes for children in Malaysia
Qur’an and Arabic, maths and science, Malayalam, abacus and character — taught live in batches of two to four, in English, by a teacher who sees your child every week. Built around a family’s week in Malaysia.
What families in Malaysia come to us for
Kuala Lumpur and Penang are two and a half hours ahead of Kerala, so classes land comfortably in the early evening at both ends. Families here usually come for Malayalam and for Qur’an explained in English, alongside whichever curriculum their school follows.

Before you book
Questions parents in Malaysia ask
Will the class time actually work for us?
Classes for families in Malaysia usually run 5pm to 9pm Malaysia time. We fix the slot with you on the trial call around school, work and your own evening — not around ours — and we move it when a school examination week arrives rather than letting the term lapse.
Which language will my child be taught in?
English. Tajwid, meaning and adab are explained in the same language as mathematics and science, so that a lesson is understood rather than simply followed. Where a child is more comfortable in Malayalam, Arabic, Hindi or Urdu we teach them in that instead, and we correspond with you in whichever you prefer.
What does it cost, and what do we pay to start?
Nothing to register and nothing for the trial class. We agree the fee with you after the trial, once we know the subjects, the batch size and how often your child will attend, because those are what it depends on.
How big is a class?
Two to four children, or one to one where that is the right arrangement. Small enough that every child reads aloud and answers out loud every time.
Is Bustan an online madrasa for families in Malaysia?
If you mean live Qur'an, Tajwid, Hifz and Islamic studies with qualified teachers, that is exactly what we do and some of our parents describe us that way. But the same children also take maths, science, English and their school syllabus with us on the same timetable, so “live online school” is nearer the truth.
